This is a rare October 15th, 1951 "Playgoer" playbill from the one-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of the ARTHUR CARTER melodrama "THE NUMBER" at the Walnut Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (The production would open October 30th, 1951 at the Biltmore Theatre in New York City and close after only 87 performances.) ..... The play starred DANE CLARK and ELEANOR LYNN (replaced out-of-town by MARTHA SCOTT) and featured MURVYN VYE, JENNIE GOLDSTEIN, PEGGY NELSON, LOUISE LARABEE, LUIS VAN ROOTEN, ANATOLE WINOGRADOFF, LYDIA REED, DIANA HERBERT, BOBBY VAIL and JAY BARNEY .....
