Reviving a celebrated title last published in 1839, Paul Poiret and Tom Antongini produced Journal des dames et des modes between June 1912 and August 1914. A magazine devoted to ladies and fashion, each issue contained pochoir prints showing women attired in gowns, robes, and coats that invariably stretched to the floor, exposing only a delicate foot. Children, properly kitted out, appeared as well; there was even an occasional man. One dozen fetching images have been selected for this calendar from the 183 printed during the magazines brief but dazzling run.
