Pauvre Alice! Poor Alice! This from a very cool French version of the original 1865 Alice's Adventure in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, or, in French, Aventures d'Alice au pays des merveilles. The wonderful illustration is by the reknown Sir John Tenniel (1820 - 1914). Lewis Carroll was the penname, or nom de plume, of the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson.
